New York Yankees @ Tampa Bay Rays
Favorite: Yankees -118
Pitchers: Nestor Cortes (1.80 ERA, 0.89 WHIP) vs. Ryan Yarbrough (4.20 ERA, 1.67 WHIP)
I seemingly have a play on a Yankees game every day, whether for or against the AL East leaders. At this point, we know they’re slugging machines and tonight are behind one of the best pitchers in the majors in Nestor Cortes. Yarbrough is no slouch however, with a 4.20 ERA that is only so high because of his first start this year. Otherwise he’s been fantastic, posting a 1.48 ERA since then. I think the Rays at home are getting slighted a little too much against a Yankees team that is missing Stanton and hasn’t been exceptional lately. Losers of 3 in 5, New York might get on track here, but I think it happens when the bullpens are in.

Kansas City Royals @ Minnesota Twins
Favorite: Twins -180
Pitchers: Daniel Lynch (4.01 ERA, 1.37 WHIP) vs. Devin Smeltzer (1.74 ERA, 1.06 WHIP)
The Minnesota Twins have been one of the unexpected gems of the league so far this season. At 27-17, they sit 4.5 games ahead of the White Sox in the AL Central and are showing no signs of slowing down. Recently sweeping the Royals, the Twins now welcome them to Minnesota hoping to have the same offensive success they had before, where they posted 6 or more runs in every game. Torching lefties in the month of May (3rd in OPS), they face Lynch who allowed 4 runs in 3.2 innings his last time facing the Twins. Expect the same today, and lets isolate the Twins total here.

Colorado Rockies @ Washington Nationals
Favorite: Nationals -115
Pitchers: German Marquez (6.14 ERA, 1.59 WHIP) vs. Patrick Corbin (6.60 ERA, 1.69 WHIP)
I cannot say enough about just how abysmal these two pitchers have been to begin the season. I can at least give Marquez a teeny bit of slack because his home ballpark is in Colorado where the balls fly, but Corbin has been terrible. This is a game the public will play the over on, and call me a sheep because I’m going that way too. The Rockies are batting 5th in OPS against LHP in May, and while they’ve struggled in their last 4 games batting, they should not today. Expect the Rockies to get back on track and get a number of runs. They might allow them too, but I’m going to isolate the Rockies.
