It has been a rough stretch of basketball betting for me last week. However, we are only two weeks into the season and there is still a lot to learn about different players and teams. I don’t have a lot of plays for today, but there was one that caught my eye as soon as it opened. Let’s get things back on track!
Alperen Sengun over 21.5 Points & Rebounds
(-130) - 1 Unit
For those who have been following me for some time or in different Discords or chats, it is no secret I am a big fan of Alperen Sengun and his game. It was an interesting start to the season with the Rockets making the questionable choice of starting journeyman Bruno Fernando over him, and Sengun was also sick a couple of days which kept him away from the court. However, he is once again putting up amazing per-minute stats that made many stats nerds like myself fall in love with him in the first place.
The Rockets have had a tough time getting their two new futures of the franchise going in Jalen Green and Jabari Smith so far this season. Now that I have said that, one of them is bound to pop off tonight, but their recent stats have left a lot to be desired. Kevin Porter Jr has really picked up the bulk of the work coming off of his exciting but interesting new contract. Sengun has also carried his weight thus far when he is out there, averaging 15.4 points per game along with 10 rebounds.
The Clippers have been rotating through their very deep lineup already as they balance Kawhi Leonard and John Wall’s load management. Their big men are not really known for their defensive prowess either, although I do respect Zubac’s game a lot and think people really underrate him. I know that the Rockets are coming off of a back-to-back, but these young guys are going to be just fine. With Green and Smith struggling, I expect Alperen to really pick up some offensive production, as well as grab his usual large number of boards.
Let’s watch Sengun eat tonight and get my cards back on track! If I have additional plays I will tweet them out as I am traveling today. Feel free to follow me at @AndyHHSports on Twitter so you don’t miss out on your basketball betting needs!
