Things got back on the right track in Week 5, as my "Not So Early" Best Bets card went 2-0, and my entire card ended at 4-0 for a gain of 6 units! I can't guarantee a massive turnaround like that after every bad week, but I can guarantee continued value on jumping in on the NFL slate early! If grabbing early lines before they move isn't your thing, then be on the lookout for Deej's NFL card every Sunday before the games kick off to see where the money, bets, and trends are sitting after a week of wagers being placed by the public. Let's hope I don't go full-on roller coaster this week after going positive, negative, and positive in Weeks 3, 4, and 5!

Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts
The Colts are coming off one of the most boring Thursday Night Football games in recent memory. However, I think this will actually play to their advantage. Indy will have plenty of time to rest up and prepare for hosting Jacksonville, who are coming off back-to-back losses.
The 24-0 battering the Colts took in Week 2 from the Jags was infuriating to watch after all the talk from the offseason was about the Week 18 loss they took in Jacksonville to close last season's campaign. The Jaguars looked like their progress as a young team was accelerating before our eyes after they blew out the Chargers the next week too, but things have come back to reality over the past two weeks. Both teams now face one of the most crucial matchups of their seasons at an early point, especially for Indianapolis who are already 0-3 in the division.
The good news for Colts fans and bettors is history is on Indy's side. Just like how the Colts have lost their last 8 matchups in Jacksonville, the Jags have lost 8 of their last 9 when they visit the Colts. Jonathan Taylor is still on the injury report, but keep an eye out for if he practices Thursday and Friday. The lack of JT did not stop sharp bettors though, as the money is sitting heavily on Indianapolis early on. Not only do the Colts need this win, but so do we for Colts over 10 wins and Jacksonville under 2.5 divisional wins from the AFC South Preview piece which has DEFINITELY had a rough start!
The Play: Colts Moneyline (-130) - 1 Unit
6-Pt Teaser (-110) - 1 Unit
- Buccaneers -2.5
- Cowboys +11
Teasers had become an ongoing joke for the Happy Hour Sports boys as I had a gross 0-4 start on taking them which dragged down my record a tad. Week 5 showed us two teaser victories, and I am looking at two teams early in Week 6 with my beloved 6-point buffer that should be great in helping them cover.
The Bucs are headed to Pittsburgh this weekend and things have not looked good at all so far for the boys in black and yellow. The Week 1 win against the Bengals feels like it happened years ago as the Steelers have been on a four-game skid. Kenny Pickett was hearing his name chanted by all of Pittsburgh for weeks and unfortunately for their fans has not delivered as much as they thought he would be based on the preseason.
Tampa Bay has not looked as sharp as many expected them to be. The Packers and Chiefs losses were close, but so were the wins against New Orleans and Atlanta. However, the quality of opponents takes a steep drop off now against the Steelers, and I believe getting the Bucs by just a field goal here is a nice spot with the total being so low at 43.5.
I paired the Bucs by a field goal with the Cowboys, as this defense should give the Eagles their toughest test to date. Normally the NFC East matchups on Sunday Night Football are meaningless and forced upon us by the big TV networks, but this week will be different. I expect the Cowboys to keep it close, and having an 11-point buffer on a 42-point total should prove to be helpful in what could be a defensive battle. Philly will be bouncing, but the Cooper Rush hype train may keep chugging along for a Cowboys team that went undefeated in the division last season.
Stay tuned as we continue to put out more NFL content as the season goes along. We also will have plenty of college football reactions, best bets, and UFC previews coming your way, so make sure to keep an eye out on our socials below! Finally, I have been putting a lot of my time into getting Basketball content started back up, so check out the season props I have so far if you are looking to place a few futures before the NBA season gets going next week!
